CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Two people killed after their car went airborne and slammed into a Cleveland house have been identified by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner.

Willa Guy, 33, and Michael Carter, 49, died in the accident on East 61st Street just before midnight on Thursday.

"I just heard like a a boom," said Freddie Glaspy.

According to police, a 2006 Hyundai Sonata driven by Guy traveled westbound on Wade Park Avenue at a very high rate of speed.

The vehicle struck a curb and embankment near East 63rd Street and became airborne, striking the tree tops and then the second floor of a private home on East 61st Street. The vehicle then fell to the ground landing in the driveway area of East 61st Street.

"It hit right here . It hit right there and then the car cause it was small car went airborne," said Freddie Glaspy.

Freddie Glaspy lives just feet away from where a car went flying and crashed into the second story of his neighbors house off of E. 61st Street.

A blue tarp now covers the spot where the car collided into the building after taking down several tree limbs.

Guy and Carter were pronounced dead on scene.

The homeowner was in his kitchen washing dishes at the time of the crash. He was not hurt.

A dog inside the car survived the crash.
