Thorntons Inc. relaunches its Gas Price Alert text program on Friday with new and improved features hosted by GasBuddy and powered by  the OpenSource™ software. 

The program requires a one-time participant text to 55123 that includes a market code for the area(s) customers wish to receive alerts. A full list of market codes is available at http://thorntonsinc.com/Fuel-Alerts.html.

Participants will receive a text message before fuel prices are set to increase at the pump, with an alert sent each time Thorntons is notified of a confirmed increase.  Customers can also sign up by calling:  1-866-473-0017, press Option 4 and follow the prompts. 

The Thorntons/GasBuddy app is available for immediate download now at the Apple App Store, Google Play, Windows Phone and Blackberry App World and all participants previously signed up for Thorntons Gas Alerts texts in its original format will automatically be transferred to the new system.
