HEBRON, KY (FOX19) -

One of the top quarterback recruits in the country announced where he'll play college football this afternoon at Conner High School.

At the press conference, Barker announced he'll play for University of Kentucky.

Drew Barker, listed as high as the nation's 6th best quarterback recruit in his class by recruiting sites, said ahead of time that he would choose between Kentucky, South Carolina and Tennessee.

The 6'4" 205 pound junior ran and threw for nearly 3,500 yards and 40 touchdowns last season at Conner.

Offered scholarships by 20 different colleges, Barker narrowed his list to three SEC schools and has kept his decision a secret making this afternoon's announcement one of the most anticipated recruiting announcements in the tri-state.

Barker will still have one more season of football at Conner High School before graduating in 2014.
