CANTON, MA (WSHM) -

At approximately 12:05 a.m. Saturday, a single car crash resulted in the death of 20-year-old Evan Bard.

The Norfolk District Attorney's office told CBS 3 that the Agawam native was the passenger in a Toyota Corolla that struck a wall and then immediately crashed into a tree.

Bard was pronounced dead at the scene.

The male operator of the vehicle was taken to Boston Medical Center with head injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Bard graduated from Agawam High School and was studying nursing at Curry College in Milton.

The school put out a statement Saturday afternoon, that said their hearts go out to Evan's family and friends at this time.

The statement also said the Bard family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.

Saturday marked the end of the semester at Curry, but the school stated that grief counseling will be available throughout the summer.

Curry College added that they will share information about funeral services when that information becomes available.
