Springfield police investigating two stabbings

Police said a man is expected to survive after being stabbed three times by two people late Friday night.

CBS 3 media partner Mass Live and The Republican reports the stabbing happened in the area of 927 Worthington St.

Police said the victim was in a fistfight with one of the two assailants, walked away and then was rushed from behind.

The victim suffered stab wounds on each side of his torso, with one piercing his lung.

Police are also investigating a stabbing that took place early Saturday evening in Indian Orchard.

The incident happened on Worcester Road.

Police told CBS 3 that a man was taken to the hospital, suffering from non-life threatening injuries.

Both incidents remain under investigation.
