Police find bomb in the back of a truck

Police say a device found in the back of a truck on Plantation Avenue off Highway 415 in West Baton Rouge Parish was a bomb.

The West Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office responded to the scene around 8:30 pm Saturday night. According to investigators, the owner of the truck called police after a witness notified him.

Responding investigators were assisted by members of the state Police and ATF and evacuated a one block area surrounding the truck behind Minnow's truck stop. The device was deactivated with the use of a state police robot. The investigation continues.
