The MLB announced the 30 winners of the 2013 Honorary Bat Girl Contest that recognizes baseball fans who have been affected by breast cancer and demonstrate a commitment to eradicating the disease. 

The winner for the Cincinnati Reds is Josie Shuler of Fairfield Township. Shuler was recognized during the on-field pregame ceremonies at Great American Ball Park on Sunday.

Josie received complimentary game tickets for her and her family, a commemorative Reds jersey and pink wrist bands. Louisville Slugger will be sending her a personalized pink bat engraved with her name.

Josie was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer on 8/8/08. Her cancer has reoccurred in her lungs and brain. Several times doctors told her she only had months to live. She is a very active volunteer with Komen Cincinnati, American Cancer Society and many others. She is a huge Reds fan and has an "exhibit" of all her Reds memorabilia in her basement. She and her husband are members of the Reds Hall of Fame & Museum and attend Redsfest every year.

The 30 winners were selected by fan votes on along with feedback from a Guest Judging Panel.
