AUBURN, Ala. – Jordan Ebert was named the Southeastern Conference's Freshman of the Week after he helped Auburn to a 4-1 week last week, the conference office announced on Monday.

Ebert, from Foley, Ala., led Auburn with a .579 batting average for the week and a .545 mark during the series win at Florida. For the week he was 11-for-19 with two doubles, a home run (.842 slugging percentage), four RBI and five runs scored. He also walked three times for a .636 on base percentage. Defensively he had a perfect fielding percentage on 33 chances (15 putouts, 18 assists) and helped turn five of Auburn's six defensive double plays.

Auburn's series win at Florida was its first since 2006 and also clinched the program's fourth straight trip to the SEC Tournament.

On the season Ebert it hitting .302, third on the team, with six doubles, a triple and three home runs, driving in 18 RBI and scoring 27 runs. The everyday second baseman, he has helped turn 30 double plays on the season, which is tied for 15th in the SEC.

Ebert is Auburn's first SEC Freshman of the Week since Dillon Ortman was on the award on April 11, 2011. His selection marks the first time an Auburn position player has been selected for the award as Auburn's three previous winners were all pitchers.
