WASHINGTON STATE (WNEM) -

A new and dangerous game on the west coast has led to the death of a high school quarterback.

The game is called The Fugitive Game and it's is a modern day version of cops and robbers.

Participants usually play at night, splitting into separate groups with one group playing the role of cops.

They're allowed to use their cars to catch the "bad guys," but it can get out of control.

Some teens will do anything to avoid getting captured.

Over the weekend a 17-year-old died after falling from the bed of a pick-up truck and hitting his head.

One psychologist says day-to-day life is just too boring for kids.

Police across the west coast are clamping down on the game.

They've given citations for disorderly conduct in Washington state. It is unclear if the game has come to Michigan.
