Police memorial ceremony to be held in Bay City

BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

A special ceremony will take place in Bay City Wednesday, recognizing all of the Bay County law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty.

The police memorial ceremony will be held in front of the Bay County Law Enforcement Center, located at 501 Third St. in Bay City.

Officials with the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 103, Bay City Public Safety Department, the Bay County Sheriff's Office and the Michigan State Police Bay City Tri-City Post will host the ceremony.

The event is an opportunity for everyone to pay tribute to those brave officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Officers who wish to attend are asked to do so in uniform.

The event kicks off at noon.

Tuesday, Police officers in Saginaw County were honored for their hard work. Saginaw Township Police hosted their annual awards program and memorial service. They also recognized people who help officers throughout the year.
