In February, WSFA 12 News viewers helped capture 19 wanted fugitives by calling in to our
"CrimeStoppers Action Line". Wednesday we opened our phone lines for a "Stop the Violence Action Line" to help you.

While the phone bank has ended, the need for help and the resources to get that help continue on. If you're the victim of domestic violence, need help protecting your children or just need help reducing crime in your neighborhood, there are a lot of organizations that can help.

We partnered with the Montgomery Dept. of Public Safety, The Montgomery District Attorney's office, One Place Family Justice Center, Child Protect, Family Sunshine Center, Family Guidance Center, CrimeStoppers and others to assist YOU.

The Family Sunshine Center - - provides many services including:

  • A 24/7 crisis line, 1.800.650.6522, for victims of family violence, including those experiencing (or having experienced) child abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, and elder abuse.

  • A 24/7 shelter for victims of family violence who are in immediate danger and need safe shelter.

  • A counseling center where victims can call for an appointment or walk in between 8:30 and 4:30 M-F.

  • Intake counselors (and other staff) at One Place Family Justice Center to help victims navigate a menu of services designed to meet multiple needs under one roof.

  • An Outreach and Violence Prevention program that works with school-based and community programs to teach children and youth to be safe, treat one another with respect and kindness (bullying prevention), and understand healthy relationships and safe dates.
