Summer concert series kicks off at Horseshoe Casino

The Killers The Killers
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

The summer concert series at the Horseshoe Casino kicked off Thursday night with a sold out concert featuring 'The Killers'.

The stage sits on a one acre lawn near the front of the casino entrance.

Thursday's concert was standing room only, and security made sure nobody brought chairs, blankets, or bags inside. Sam Handelsman and his friends said they didn't mind the venue.

"I like that atmosphere and also, we're kind of late getting down here so it kind of makes it okay to be late because it's general admission, so you can just stand wherever," said Handelsman.

New acts continue to be added, and right now shows like Ke$ha, Billy Idol, Earth Wind and Fire, and Chicago are all slated to perform.

Ticket prices range from $27-$45. All concerts are open to all ages and will happen rain or shine.

Free self-parking is available on site at the Horseshoe Cincinnati parking garage, which offers more than 2,000 spaces.  Public parking is also available at the nearby Alms & Doepke Parkhaus Garage, 1123 Sycamore St., for a nominal fee.

On the day of the concert, Horseshoe Casino offers valet only to Total Reward Cardholders.  Total Rewards membership is free.  Visit the Total Rewards desk inside the casino to join.

  • Gold TR Members - $10
  • Platinum TR Members - $5
  • Diamond & Seven Star TR Members – FREE

The valet may reach capacity this weekend as well.  As it approaches capacity, Horseshoe Casino may restrict access to Diamond & Seven Star guests only.

The A&D Parkhaus Garage has 690 spaces and is within a short walk to the casino entrance.  Public parking is $6.

This is a 19-week concert series, taking place until the end of September.
