Florida man repairing RV killed in I-24 crash

CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A man who was underneath his motor home along Interstate 24 was killed when a tractor-trailer crashed into his vehicle Thursday afternoon.

The crash occurred around 3 p.m. near mile marker 1.

The victim, Roger Dale LaGrone, 65, of Temple Terrace, FL, was trying to repair his RV on the side of the road when a tractor-trailer lost control and slammed into the vehicle.

LaGrone was killed and a passenger inside the RV, Kenneth R. Nichols, 67, of Ridgefarm, IL, was taken to the hospital.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, Carl J. Anderson, 26, of North Baltimore, OH, was not hurt. 

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said citations were issued but criminal charges will not be filed.
