Montgomery man sentenced to prison for 2013 murder of wife

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The suspect in the City of Montgomery's 24th homicide of 2013 is being sentenced to prison following his agreement to plead guilty to manslaughter in his wife's death.

Anthony Lamar Brown will spend 10 years in prison for the May 2013 death of his wife, 33-year-old Shamieka Brown.

Montgomery police officers were called to the scene of the shooting in the 3900 Block of Oak Street where they found Brown dead inside her home.

The woman's husband was later arrested and charged with her death.

In addition to the prison sentence, which will include time already served, Brown will have to pay $8,800 in restitution.
