LEBANON, OH (FOX19) -
A 43-year-old woman has been indicted for leading troopers on a 23-mile pursuit and crashing into a police cruiser in Warren County.
Benjie Pauline Brown, of Loveland, has been indicted on charges of felonious assault, failure to comply, resisting arrest, forgery and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Police say Brown was found sleeping inside her vehicle at a Warren County rest area off of Southbound I-71 in May. After checking the vehicle's plates, authorities discovered that the vehicle was stolen.
As police confronted the suspect, Brown fled in the vehicle.
Brown was apprehended by authorities after crashing into a Highway Patrol Cruiser on southbound I-71 near Western Brown Road.
She was transported to Arrow Springs Hospital with minor injuries.
Two officers also sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident. A Mason police officer suffered injuries to his left arm after attempting to deploy stop sticks. He was treated and released from Arrow Springs Hospital.
Another trooper sustained minor injuries to his right hand and forearms as a result of the crash. He was treated for injuries at the scene.
Brown has been incarcerated in the Warren County Jail pending charges of Receiving Stolen Property, Fleeing and Eluding, Felonious Assault, Resisting Arrest, Reckless Operation, and Driving without a License.
Alcohol and drugs are not expected to be involved.
