DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

DeKalb County police have made an arrest in the murder of former NFL Player David McMillan III.

McMillan III, 31, was shot and killed in Decatur on Saturday on Pine Hill Drive in DeKalb County.

McMillan played for the Cleveland Browns from 2005 to 2007 and was currently employed with UPS.

According to witnesses, the McMillan was with Antonio Faust, 19, when they both quickly exited the victim's car.

Police said a brief struggle ensued and Faust shot McMillan.

On May 21, Faust surrendered himself to DeKalb County police and confessed to the murder. Information Faust provided confirmed his statements.

Police said Faust told them he had never met McMillan before that evening. He had gotten a ride from McMillan and attempted to rob McMillian at gunpoint. McMillan fought with Faust and was shot.

Faust is being held in the DeKalb County Jail, charged with felony murder.

The viewing for McMillan will be held Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Kinsey and Walton Funeral Home Peach Orchard Road in Augusta. The funeral will be held Saturday at noon at Tabernacle Baptist Church, also in Augusta.

McMillan will be laid to rest after the service at Hillcrest Memorial Park next to his sister.

His mother is also setting up a fund his name to make a donation to charity. That information is still pending.
