LAWRENCEBURG, IN (FOX19) -

A Dearborn County jury has convicted a man of beating an Indiana woman to death with a skillet and a pepper grinder.

Charles Stephenson faces life in prison without parole for the murder of Leigh Jennings, 67. The sentencing phase will begin Tuesday.

Closing arguments were held on Monday morning, and the jury reached a verdict late Monday evening.

Jennings' body was found on April 5, 2012 in her Aurora home. Police say Jennings had actually been killed days before, on March 29.

Stephenson is the nephew of Bill and Peggy Stephenson, who were murdered in Boone County in 2011. Their murders remain unsolved, but Stephenson is not a suspect in that case.
