ATLANTA, GA (WTVM) -

An Atlanta teen who was homeless and lived in her mother's car for years is celebrating now.

That's because she is her high school's valedictorian!

Seventeen year old Chelsea Fearce and her family of five lived in shelters, motels, and even a car when they had one.

She says through it all, she would just do what she had to do to get by.

"I opened my book and used a cell phone light, just do what I had to do. Don't give up do what you have to do right now so that you can have the future that you want," said Fearce.

Fearce tested high enough to take all college coerces for the last two years of high school. So when she enters Spelman College in the fall she'll do so as a college junior.
