TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Police need the public's help identifying a suspect who robbed a west Toledo Subway with a large knife Thursday morning.

According to the police report, an employee at the Subway on Phillips Avenue said she was working alone around 7:40 a.m. when she noticed a man walking outside the restaurant smoking a cigarette. She said he stopped and stared into the restaurant for a while, then walked away toward Lewis Avenue.

A few minutes later, the employee said the male suspect returned and entered the restaurant.

The employee said when she returned from the backroom after getting an English muffin the male ordered, she found he had jumped over the counter and was standing behind the cash register holding a large knife with a blade possibly 8 inches long. While pointing the knife at her, he ordered her to empty the drawer. He also told her, "Do what I say and you're not gonna get hurt."

The suspect then asked for more money, so the employee gave him a cash box that was below the register. He took most of the money, leaving behind only some rolls of coins. He fled the scene on foot eastbound with $220 cash.

The suspect is described as a male with shaved hair, a goatee with scruff, dark circles under his eyes, wearing a black pullover hoodie and camouflage pants.

Anyone who recognizes this suspect is urged to call police.
