Marshals: Gravedigger murdered, buried wife in cemetery

A man wanted in Virginia for murdering his wife and burying her in a cemetery was arrested in Mecklenburg County after a two-week manhunt, according to a report from the U.S. Marshals Service.

Adan Quiroz Rodriguez, 26, is accused of killing his wife, Ashley Rodriguez, between May 5 and 6, in Alleghany County, Virginia.

After her body was discovered buried in Alleghany Memorial Park Cemetery, officials said Rodriguez, who is a grave digger by trade, fled to North Carolina to avoid apprehension, the report states.

Thursday, after two weeks of searching, Marshals found Rodriguez hiding in a closet at a home in the 14000 block of Egglestone Drive, which is near Pineville, North Carolina.

Rodriguez is being held at the Mecklenburg County Jail, pending extradition back to Alleghany County to face the murder charge.
