CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Hundreds of bikers replaced Reds fans at the Banks this afternoon as the ninth annual Breast Fest revved up for its biggest year ever.

The average biker may not be decked out in pink. However, it was the color of the day on Sunday for the 2013 Breast Fest. More than 800 bikes lined the streets outside of the Holy Grail to raise money for local women battling breast cancer.

"It originally started when my daughter's best friend at 27 was diagnosed with breast cancer. That's very young," explained Kathy McCarthy, one of the creators of Breast Fest. "We decided we wanted to do something for her and the one thing that we had in common with a bunch of our friends was riding motorcycles."

Word of mouth spread about the event. This year, organizers expect a record crowd.

"Bikers like to do charity things. They really do have big hearts," said McCarthy. "And it's just gotten bigger and bigger and bigger."

The proceeds from Breast Fest go straight to those in need. Part of the proceeds go to the Pink Ribbon Girls who help women by taking care of the day-to-day duties of motherhood.

"The things that we provide for them are simple. Meals, babysitting, and house cleaning, and transportation," said Pink Ribbon Girl, Tracie Metzger. "Which when you're a young mom, battling breast cancer, I mean, any mom battling breast cancer, it's just nice to have those things covered for you and you can do what you need to do to fight your breast cancer and not worry about that stuff."

The rest of the proceeds are given to a single woman fighting breast cancer. This year's recipient is Jennifer Stock. Stock was a Pink Ribbon Girl volunteer long before she was diagnosed with cancer.

"[Jennifer] was at one of our first meetings for our benefit last year and had been diagnosed that day and we'd already picked that year's recipient, so this year we wanted to give back to one of our own," said McCarthy.

The ride started at Holy Grail, traveled downtown and ended with an after party at McDogs Lakeside Saloon. Organizers are hoping to raise close to $15 thousand.
