NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A man was shot in Hermitage while getting out of his car late Thursday night.

The incident happened on Brooke Valley Court around 11:30 p.m.

The victim told police that two men came up to his car and held him at gunpoint while they demanded his wallet.

The attackers then shot him in the leg and ran.

The victim was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center, where he's expected to make a full recovery.

The gunmen are still on the run.
