COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Four passengers, including two children, were rushed to a hospital Thursday afternoon when their car crashed into a gas pump.

Two cars were involved in the crash, which took place at the Crown gas station on South Lumpkin Road.

A driver says he was making a left turn into the gas station when the black car swerved to avoid him and went over the curb into the pumps.

It slid underneath a Coca-Cola truck that two men were unloading in the parking lot.

"The Coca-Cola man was in the back of the truck and he jumped out," said Calvin Payne Sr., who was involved in the crash. "I mean they just came down from here and after they hit me they just went straight airborne.  With that impact, that's what you see."

Witnesses say two adult women were lying in the grass and loaded onto ambulances by stretcher.

One woman appeared to be seriously hurt.  We're told the children's injuries are less severe.

We'll keep you posted on any updates.
