Leonard Pope is a seven year NFL veteran but he still hasn't forgotten where he got his start.

Today, Pope and his C.H.A.M.P. foundation hosted his annual kids day at the Sumpter County Fair Grounds.

There was free food, games and music for the community to enjoy. Pope says that coming back to Americus every off season and treating the kids is something that he always wants to do.

"I always find a way to give back," Pope said. "We all were young once ... We just wanted to come out and have a good time."

Pope is currently a free agent but said that he has recently worked out for three teams and is expecting a call as the NFL season nears.
