MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

An 8 year-old boy was taken from his front yard by gunpoint, but thankfully the situation ended shortly after it began.

Danielle Elrod says her son Vincent went outside of their Etowah County home to feed the dog last Wednesday when a man with a gun forced the boy into his car. Nearly two miles down the road, the man  threw the boy out of the car and fled the scene.

Even though the family has filed a report with authorities, no arrests have been made. Etowah County officials confirmed they are investigating this case. The Elrods ask anyone who may have seen the man or have information to contact law enforcement.
