HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A major automobile manufacturer is making a multi-million dollar investment in its Huntsville facility, bringing more productivity and more jobs to the area.

Toyota announced Thursday that it will invest $150 million in the Huntsville engine plant to boost engine parts production for V6 engines. Toyota said they will hire about 125 new employees once the expansion of the assembly plant is completed in early 2014.

"Toyota Alabama continues to play a key role in our efforts to build engines in the region for our loyal customers," said Jim Bolte, president of Toyota Alabama. "This vote of confidence gives our team members and community partners added motivation as we move towards our vision of becoming the most admired company in the state."

Senator Paul Sanford released a statement following Toyota's announcement. "It has been a top priority to make sure we're adopting policies that foster a business-friendly economic climate," Sanford said. "There's no better indicator that we're on the right track when a company like Toyota announces it will continue expanding operations and add new jobs in Alabama."

"It not only speaks volumes for the direction we're heading as a state, but it's also a strong endorsement of Alabama's first-class workforce."
