Identification on-going of 3 bodies found in vehicle on Weiss Lake

CHEROKEE CO., AL (WSFA) -

Authorities say they're working to determine the identities of three bodies found after a vehicle was pulled from a lake in Cherokee County.

The vehicle was discovered by a fisherman on June 13 in Weiss Lake off Cherokee County 31.

Authorities say it appears the vehicle left the roadway, traveled off an embankment and into the lake.

The Cherokee County coroner is attempting to make legal identification of the victims.

Nothing further is available at this time as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.

Inquiries regarding identification should be directed to the Cherokee County Coroner's Office.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call the Jacksonville State Trooper Post at 256-435-3521.
