COOKEVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A mom brought her kids to the movies Sunday night to see the new Superman movie, but she ended up in jail.

The mother, Sherry Moore, 50, showed up to the movies drunk and high, according to a report in the Cookeville Herald-Citizen.

Police in Putnam County said Moore brought her 12-year-old son to the Highland 12 Theater on South Jefferson Avenue.

When she went to buy popcorn, police said she left a bottle of marijuana and pills on the concession counter. Theater staff called police, who said Moore was unsteady on her feet when they arrived.

Moore pleaded guilty to simple possession and public intoxication.

She was sentenced to two days, fined $1,200 and will be on supervised probation for the next year.
