MONTGOMERY CO., AL (WSFA) -

People in one neighborhood are stepping up security measures following a home invasion. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says four men terrorized an elderly couple and burglarized their home.

It happened Sunday night on Sullivans Trace, which is just off Butler Mill Road in south Montgomery County. The men held the couple at gunpoint and took guns and property, according to neighbors and the Sheriff's office.

"It's definitely made me more aware," said Bernard Stevenson, a neighbor. "I turn the alarms on more now than I used to, and the lights on at night."

"I think people will keep their garage door down and making sure their doors are locked," said Eddie Jasper, who lives near the couple.

The Sheriff's office says the couple could not give a good description of the men who are accused of committing the crime. Anyone with information is asked to call the office or CrimeStoppers at 215-STOP.
