DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -
Two men were arrested on drug possession charges
following a traffic stop in Decatur.
Decatur Police stopped a car for reckless
driving at the intersection of Point Mallard Drive and Regency Boulevard on
Thursday. During the stop, a canine officer detected the presence of drugs in
Officers discovered digital scales with
marijuana residue and sandwich bags inside the car, along with large amounts of
pot that had been packaged for resale.
Police arrested the driver of the car, Hernando
Perez Orr, Jr., and a passenger, Xavier Oneal Jones. Orr and Jones were both
charged with first-degree marijuana possession and possession of drug
paraphernalia. Orr was also charged with reckless driving.
Both men were taken to the Decatur City jail
and will be transported to the Morgan County Jail.
