ELMORE CO., AL (WSFA) -

Authorities say a single-vehicle crash Sunday morning claimed two lives in Elmore County. The crash happened around 8 a.m. on Elmore County 429.

Jesus Ugalbe, 19, of Opelika was driving a 2004 Nissan Xterra when he ran off the roadway and overturned. Ugalbe and a passenger, Gerardo Costillo, 24, of Auburn, were both ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say neither victim was wearing a seat belt.

Although the investigation into the crash continues, Alabama State Troopers say speed was a factor.
