MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The WMBF Storm Team HD Doppler Radar, and the National Weather Service, is showing showers and thunderstorms producing excessive rain in Horry County.
A Flood Watch is now in effect until 12 a.m. for Florence, Willamsburg, Marion, Marlboro, Dillon Darlington, Horry and Georgetown counties in South Carolina as well as Scotland and Robeson counties in North Carolina.
They have also issued a FLOOD WARNING for Horry County.
This rain is falling on saturated soils so flooding is expected, especially in low-lying and poor drainage areas. The NWS advises that small streams and creeks may overflow their banks.
Via NIXLE alert, Conway Police advised some roads downtown including Millpond Road and Highway 501 have standing water. Please use caution and avoid if possible.
