BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A large tree limb fell onto a car on I-10, causing an accident and major backups Wednesday afternoon.

It happened on I-10 East just before the Perkins Road exit in Baton Rouge.

There were no injuries, but officials with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development reported two lanes of traffic were blocked due to the crash.

Fire crews responded to the scene and cleared the debris from the roadway.

Backups from the wreck stretched well into Port Allen, as drivers tried to cross the Horace Wilkinson Bridge (New Bridge) into Baton Rouge.
