BRAVE arrests nine suspects

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

B.R.A.V.E. participants arrested nine suspects during the first week in July as part of a targeted gang initiative following a gang member's involvement in a suspected murder.

The sheriff, district attorney and chief of police warned participants at the April B.R.A.V.E. call-in that further criminal acts and violence would result in hard crack downs from law enforcement for not only call-in participants, but also their known associates. Trevor Georgetown, a known member of the Block Boyz gang, was a participant in the call-in. Following the call in, EBRSO detectives identified Georgetown as a suspect in a June 6 homicide committed in Gardere. East Baton Rouge Sheriff's detectives arrested Georgetown Wednesda, July 3 and charged him with First Degree Murder for the shooting of 18-year-old Franklin Lara.

After receiving information of Georgetown's possible involvement in murder, B.R.A.V.E. participants conducted a warrant roundup with EBRSO, BRPD, DA and ATF that focused on members of the Block Boyz gang in the Gardere area. The initiative resulted in the arrest of eight individuals, some suspected Block Boyz, on July 2. The following were arrested and booked: Antoine Fisher,  Brandon Rome, Nicholas Deandre, Joshua Bess,  Brian Keith Sheppard, Eric Sheppard, Johron Segura,  Donnar Lee Willis.
