(WMC-TV) - The mother of a teen shot near the Peppertree Apartments is now calling for justice.

A couple of weeks ago, 17-year-old Terrico Clarriett was shot more than eight times. Parts of his skull have been removed, and his family practically lives the hospital.

"We spend the night [at the MED]. We eat here. We sleep here" said mother Tanya Lindell."I can't give up on my baby."

Lindell stated she knows who shot her son. She wants to know why police haven not arrested anyone yet.

"We've done all the footwork. All they need to do is go and get these guys and question them" said Lindell. "What are they waiting on? Somebody to die?"

When questioned about Clarriett, the Memphis Police Department said they cannot make an arrest based on hearsay.
