Man killed, driver hurt in crash at 51st Street and The Paseo

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A man was killed and a woman hurt after she lost control of her vehicle, Kansas City police said.

The crash happened at 8:11 p.m. Thursday at 51st Street and The Paseo. The woman was driving a silver Honda car southbound on The Paseo when she lost control, Kansas City police said.

The car left the road and hit an eastside curb before striking a tree in the median.

The man, who was riding in the front passenger seat, died at the scene. Police did not say whether he was wearing a seatbelt or not.

The woman was taken to an area hospital. She is expected to recover from her injuries, police said.
