BENSON, AZ (CBS5) -

A woman was pulled from her vehicle, after water started flooding into her car, as she crossed a wash on Ocotillo Road in Benson Friday afternoon, according to emergency responders.

The Cochise County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Carol Capas said the woman called 911 about 1:30 p.m. Friday, after her vehicle got stranded in flooded water, that rushed up to her seat cushion.

The Benson Police Department and Benson Fire Department, along with the CCSO deputies responded and were able to get the woman from the vehicle to safety, but her car is still stranded.

The sheriff's office reminds drivers to be mindful that any amount of water on the road can be dangerous, especially during the monsoon time of year.
