CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

A pedestrian sustained serious injuries on Saturday morning after being struck by a vehicle on East Martin Luther King Drive.

Police responded to the 400 block of East Martin Luther King Drive around 2:45 a.m. Saturday morning after receiving reports of a serious injury traffic crash.

Authorities say that Matthew Donnelly, 24, was driving his vehicle eastbound on East Martin Luther King Drive when he struck a pedestrian.

The pedestrian has been identified as 61-year-old Larry Evans. Evans was crossing East Martin Luther King Drive from the south side of roadway when he was struck.

Evans sustained serious injuries and was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Evans is currently listed as in stable condition.

Donnelly was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured as a result of the crash.

Police say that alcohol is a factor in the crash.

The traffic unit is continuing their investigation of the incident. Witnesses of the crash are asked to contact the Cincinnati Police Department's Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514.
