KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Authorities are investigating after a man was fatally shot inside his home on Kansas City's northeast side.

Police were called about 6:40 p.m. Sunday to the area of East 16th Street and Topping Avenue on reports of a person passed out and covered in blood.

When officers arrived, they found Oscar H. Chavez, 29.

Police said two acquaintances of the man had responded to the home to meet him when they found him inside.The friends told police that they had spoken to Chavez earlier Sunday afternoon.
