COLCHESTER, CT (WFSB) -

A road has been closed in Colchester after a beaver dam collapsed sending millions of gallons of water rushing over it.

Colchester First Selectman Gregg Schuster tweeted a photograph of the washed-out road and said it would be closed for a long time.

Connecticut State Police said Old Hartford Road was closed between Prospect Hill Road and Route 149 because of the dam collapse.
