SPRINGBORO, OH (FOX19) -

A former treasurer for the Springboro Athletic Boosters Association has been sentenced for embezzling.

Thomas Harves will spend 90 days in jail and have to pay $157,000 in restitution. He will also be on probation for three years.

Harves, 61, the former president and treasurer of the booster club, allegedly signed, endorsed and cashed over 300 unauthorized checks for his own personal benefit.

All told, prosecutors say almost $440,000 was stolen between 2004 and 2012.

Harves pleaded guilty to aggravated theft in April.
