CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Twenty-three Cincinnati corporations raised more than $40,000 Wednesday during the 16th annual Cincinnati Corporate Olympics held on Fountain Square.

"The money raised by Cincinnati Corporate Olympics makes all of the Special Olympics activities in Hamilton County possible," said Janet Smith, executive director, Special Olympics Hamilton County. "Just participating in the games themselves is a terrific boost for our athletes."

Several business men and women took the day off to compete in a series of games to benefit the Special Olympics Hamilton County.

Special Olympics Hamilton County is dependent on local funding for their local events, and all the money raised by the organization is used within the county.

The organization provides 24 different year-round sports and recreational activities for nearly 1,800 athletes with mental and developmental disabilities in Hamilton County.
