LEBANON, TN (WSMV) -

A member of the Wilson County school board, and a one-time school resource officer, is charged with stealing gas used for the local sheriff's office.

Greg Lasater, 45, was indicted Friday for official misconduct and theft of property, according to a report in the Lebanon Democrat.

Lasater worked with the Wilson County Sheriff's office for 26 years.

He once was Winfree Bryant Middle School's SRO and a three-term school board member.

He's been suspended without pay during the investigation.

Lasater resigned June 27 after the allegations surfaced.
