CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

The Freestore Foodbank and Midwest Financial held the 8th annual Celebrity Duck Auction on Thursday evening.

The event, held at the Moerlein Lager House, served as the official kick off for the 19th annual Rubber Duck Regatta.

Cincinnati Bengals Geno Atkins and Vinny Rey, as well as Buddy LaRosa helped auction off ducks. In addition, some of the big names to sign ducks included Joey Votto, Richard Petty, AJ Green and even 'The Hunger Games' star Josh Hutcherson.

Event organizers say the highest bid on a duck was for Buddy LaRosa's. Two people were bidding against each other, so LaRosa ended up auctioning off two ducks for $1,400 each. He also threw in a lunch prepared by the man himself.

In total, nearly $8,000 was raised Thursday to benefit the Freestore Foodbank.
