NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Local church leaders are preparing for a big food giveaway in East Nashville this weekend.

On Saturday, volunteers will hand out about 35,000 pounds of food at the Big Harpeth United Primitive Baptist Church on Meridian Street.

The food is enough to feed more than 400 families for two weeks.

The giveaway starts at 10 a.m. Visitors will have to show photo identification to receive the food.
