MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

A Montgomery mother is pleading for the ashes of her newborn son to be returned.

Monica Thomas was robbed of her purse. Inside the bag was an urn containing the ashes of the her son who lived only two hours after he was born. Investigators are trying to track down the culprit, but say even if they never find him; They're asking for help to get the urn and the ashes back to the mother.
