KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

Two people were injured following a crash Monday on northbound Interstate 635 just south of Parallel Parkway.

The accident happened just before noon when the driver of a car lost control and went over the guardrail of I-635.

That car bounced down a rocky incline before it went airborne over a car on Victory Drive below I-635.

The airborne car slammed into a power pole. Debris from that pole ended up smashing the sun roof of the car on Victory Drive.

The drivers of both cars were taken to area hospitals. They are expected to recover.

A passenger in the car with the damaged sun roof was not injured. Stacey Vereen was riding in the car with the damaged sun roof.

Vereen described it as a scene from a movie.

"Crazy!" Vereen said about seeing the neon blue car flying through the air and landing right in front of them.

His friend who was driving the car had minor injuries.

"I'm just thankful to be here, that's what's going through my mind right now," Vereen said. "Thankful for seatbelts."

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The pole has been repaired. It did not cause anyone to lose power.
