SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

Two people were found dead Tuesday morning in a chain of events that began with a shooting at a Scottsdale apartment complex.

The ordeal started about 9:30 a.m. when police found the body of Louise DesCoteas, 45, lying in an outside stairwell at the Broadstone Apartments at 92nd Street and Raintree Drive, where witnesses reported hearing a gunshot, Scottsdale police Officer David Pubins said.

Officers then went to an office complex three blocks away at 15100 N. 90th St. after another report of a gunshot.

Police found the body of Scott Jablonsky, 47, of Chandler, in the complex, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, Pubins said.

Pubins said Jablonsky and his wife recently separated. DesCoteas was the wife's new boyfriend, he said.

Police are waiting for forensic confirmation, but Pubins said investigators believe that Jablonsky shot DesCoteas outside of his apartment and then drove to the business where his wife works and shot himself.
