CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A small electrical fire on a moving walkway is affected flights at Charlotte Douglas International Airport late Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded to an electrical issue with the travelator around 4:56 p.m on Concourse E, the US Airways Express terminal.

Pictures and video posted on Twitter showed portions of the concourse filling up with smoke from the incident.

Passengers were temporarily relocated from Concourse E from the end of gate E-38 and were bused to gate E-4 where they are re-entering the terminal.

The incident has been contained and there were reportedly no injuries. Concourse E reopened around 8:30 p.m.

Some US Airways Express flights were effected, as approximately 17 of the 36 gates along the concourse were out of service as the crews worked to clear the smoke.

"I started smelling something like it was burnt rubber and it was hazy and the alarms went off," said passenger Gina Beck.
