Man rams police car after getting speeding ticket

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A man upset after getting a speeding ticket was jailed Sunday morning after he turned his car around and rammed a police car.

Police had stopped Ben-Ibn Johnson for speeding at the Four Seasons Apartment complex on Hillsboro Pike.

Police on the scene said the driver was visibly upset after getting the ticket.

After the traffic stop, police said the driver pulled away fast, made a U-turn and intentionally started speeding back toward the officers.

According to the police report, Johnson's car hit the left door of the patrol car, causing the airbags to deploy. Police said they had to quickly move out of the way to avoid being hit.

Johnson was arrested and is being held on an $80,000 bond. He was charged with three counts of aggravated assault on an officer using an deadly weapon and vandalism.
